Allergies, Lymph Nodes, and Ocular Migraines

Hello. I'm new here, and I just thought this forum would be able to answer a few health-related questions that I have. I'm moving off to college soon, which is why I'm particularly concerned.

1) Sometimes when I go to the park to play basketball, I experience an allergic reaction where I get itchy bumps all over my body, my eyes turn red, and my face puRAB up. How can I prevent this from happening? I have general allergies to dust, pollen, and grass, but for some reason the basketball courts at the park cause a reaction. Would an allergy pill solve this problem? I have asthma too, but I breathe fine during these reactions.

2) My lymph nodes on my front neck under my chin are continually swollen. My doctor said that there's nothing really wrong about it. I don't know if they are symptoms from an unknown condition that I have, or if they are just enlarged for no reason. Should I be concerned? Also, the node under my left armpit swells from time to time, but passes in a few days.

3) Every few months, I experience ocular migraines. How can I prevent these from happening? Does anyone with experience with them know if they are caused by irregular sleep patterns?

Thanks!

Definitely start taking an allergy pill before you go out. It's best to take it about 2 hours before you plan to go out for full effect. If you have problems often, you may want to start taking a daily allergy pill. I take Allegra (prescription) every day. Claritin is an OTC daily medication. Lymph nodes can swell up from the allergies.

As for ocular migraines, there is no "single cause". Many things can trigger migraines, you have to learn what your triggers are. I get migraines from the heat as one thing, sometimes a glass of wine can trigger it. If they bother you enough you can look at prescription meds to help.
