I don't know whether this is allowed to be a thread here. It is an allergy so it should count. I am allergic to milk. Not lactose intalerant, just truly allergic to milk. Have been my whole life. Is there anyone else here who has the same allergy. Is there like a magical pill you can take that for a certain amount of a period you can have milk or milk products?

I too am allergic to milk... it is horrible! And unfortunatly, there are no pills or magic things you can take...

I went out to dinner last night, told them my allergy, and apparently they didn't feel like listening cause I am so itchy I am ready to tear my skin off. I feel your pain.

I am also allergic to wheat!!

I have really just stuck to soy and soy based products...

hope this helps and I am sorry it is not the news you wnated to hear.

Thats alright, I guess I will have to find my vitamin D and calcium somewhere else.

Hi Under. My oldest has (now) a lactose intolerance, and I remeraber back when he wasn't able to consume any milk products that the soy beverages had more calcium per serving than the milk the rest of the family was drinking. Can't remeraber about the vitamin D, but it is easily found in supplement form, I take one that is in a drop form that can be added to my drink or taken straight.

I also have a true milk allergy....I had a blood RAST test and it came back moderate allergy to Milk !!!

I had a terrible reaction while eating Baskin Robbin's Peanut Butter and Chocolate ice cream. I have eaten it a million times. My roof of my mouth started tingling, hanRAB started itching and lips swelled up. I had to go to the Emergency room......they kept me the night and gave me Benadryl and cortizone shots.... it was terrible......then my mouth and lips broke all out. I was shocked when my allergy tests came back milk........I am in my 50's. This is something new.

So I try to eat non dairy as much as I can. I seem to be able to eat some things. I was told I can go get a test that breaks down casien, whey , lactate and it will tell me what part if not all of milk I am allergic too.

I have a Epi Pen now......

I have also learned I am sensitive to Carrageenan which you find in Soy products and Sorbitol......both give me an upset stomach. Any artificial sweetener does not agree with me. I tried Tofuti ice cream and I was soo sick due to the Carageenan in it.

So I stick with Rice Milk....I do miss my non fat milk. Oleander
