So, I'm allergic to the titanium rod that's fused to my spine along with 8 reinforcing bolts. It's causing extreme fatigue and nausea. Is anyone else allergic to a medical implant? What do you do/take? I don't know what to do since I can't really remove it. Doctors don't know what to do so far. I'm just looking for info of help.

Did you have the Melisa test for this allergy? There are some things you can proactively do to help because you might be getting even more titanium exposure than from the rod.

For example did you know that titanium is found in lots of everday stuff. Titanium dioxide can be in fooRAB (like M&Ms, skittles colorant), candy, gum, sunscreen, vitamins, some toothpaste, makeups, nail polish, jewelry, dental composites, crowns, braces, etc.

I would seek an opinion from an allergiest if you haven't. Short of removing these things from your situation, the only other thing I know about is removing the implant. My son had to have his knee screws taken out after his body started rejecting them and they started backing out from allergy.
