All time iconic film performance's

De Niro in The Raging Bull is a good one.

Joe Pesci in Casino.

I might get criticised for this one but Vinny Jones in lock stock also was quite iconic.

Me too - Add Scarface, Godfather one two and three, even in light hearted films like Frankie and Johnny he's good .

I liked Ed Norton and Brad Pitt in Fight Club

Johnny Depp in Ed Wood

Robert de Niro in Taxi Driver

Robert Duvall in Godfather 1 &2 and Apocalypse Now

Gina RowlanRAB in Gloria

the French actor who played Leon, name escapes me.

Jean Reno - Leon
Natalie Portman - Leon
Ed Norton - American History X
Jodi Foster - Taxi Driver
Robert De Nero - Taxi Driver
Spencer Tracey - Inherate the Wind

Say what you will but young Natalie & young Jodi were excellent in those roles IMO

I wouldnt say this was an iconic performance.

Kim Basinger as Vicki Vale for me was more iconic and Michael Keatn as Batman was more iconic, but I think Prince's soundtrack aided in this. Everything about this 'Batman' rocks!

Apart from the fact that in that film Harvey Dent was played by Billy Dee Williams, a fact they forgot when they got round to the 3rd film

Michael Caine in 'Alfie', 'The Ipcress File', 'The Italian Job' and 'Get Carter'. And almost everything else he has ever made (barring 'The Island').
