Hi everyone, i am a student and for studio art i have to do a sculpture of a pear. It can be any size, and made by clay or paper mache, but im pretty sure i can make it out of almost anything. It can be abstract or more real-life, but i want something different and outstanding. any tips or ideas would be greatly appreciated.
thanks in advance :)

a awesome abstract would be,using a paper mache base out of chicken wire.then when it drys, rent a hopper and spay it with joint compound (dry wall mud)then paint away! A+
good luck

I like the idea of a halved pear made of papier mache painted to represent a real pear, for a play on words (a pair of pears).

i'm not sure of what medium to use, but i;m leaning toward paper mache so it's very light weight and you can weigh down the end...i see a distorted pear, stretched and leaning way over at the top so it looks like it should fall down but with the weighted bottom it doesn't. it will almost look serpentine as it rises.
