I am doing research for a death & dying class and I wanted to get first hand accounts from different people of all walks of life. Any religion, any culture is encouraged to answer please! I do as that you list what religion or culture you are replying with so that way I don't get my information mixed up.

The 2 questions I am most interested in hearing your responses to are the following:

The way certain cultures & religions treat suicide.

Funeral Customs among particular religious group or cultures and their meaning.

***I want to make a side note, this question is NOT meant to pass judgment, condemn, or criticize any person's belief or culture. So please do not demean another person's response or be disrespectful in any way to another. I will report any malicious acts to Yahoo! immediately. I appreciate your understanding.
I want to further clarify my aforementioned side note. I am not a "make money from God" professional as one has already accused me of and am not out to judge ANYONE. My class is a religion class on the death and dying aspect of human life and how people of the world relate to it. All that was meant by my side note was that no one who answers will be persecuted for their beliefs. Due to the controversial issue of religion I took into account that some might answer this question to attack anothers person's belief structure. And that is something I do not want. Everyone has the right to their own beliefs and to express them free from hate. I am just trying to broaden my knowledge and hear what others have to say. A closed mind is a terrible thing and I hope those that continue to post answers will be still be respectful of others posts and of myself for it is not my aim to disrespect any of you.

1. Suicide is a very sad thing. I think that in the vast majority of cases it is unwarranted. However, ultimately it is the individual's choice.

2. I don't hold to any particular funeral customs; I don't much care what my friends and family do after I'm dead. They're welcome to have whatever kind of funeral they want, or none at all.

Why are you shouting and then threatening contributors to this forum? Your behavior suggests to me that you have a hidden agenda. Are you a professional (I make my money out of god) Christian? I don't think you really want proper responses at all.

And what on earth is a death & dying class?

You might want to look into the japanese and their views on suicide. Though it is less common these days, it was once the honorable thing to do after something shameful happened.

I don't think is quite as simple as that.
Suicide is always sad for those left behind but I always respect the person's choice. We can never tell what goes on in some body's mind!
As for funerals, we had a private funeral at home for a loved one. We thought it was the most appropriate place. Simple as that.
Religion or ethnicity do not mean much at all at extreme times.
