Emily and Beachgirl,
I am trying (breathe, breathe...)
There was an argument over how to give the clinical info to the insurance company - company wanted it left on voice mail because the nurse who was supposed to take it never answered her phone, or returned their calls. Doctor's nurses refused to leave it on voice mail. It all came down to Wednesday when they finally talked, and then the insurance nurse refused to approve it. Then I get a letter dated 2 days before they even talked saying they were denying it because I didn't have any of the problems approved for fusion - but they had no info yet (duh.) So, after a flurry of involving me on Thursday (like I could do anything) it all came down to a request for a Peer to Peer discussion - my doctor, their doctor. Everyone hoped to catch my doctor yesterday to tell him but he went into surgery and then home before they could. So, if the discussion doesn't happen on Monday, and if they don't approve it, everything gets canceled.
In the meantime, the pain has gotten far worse while waiting for surgery. SI joints have flared up for some reason, sciatica pain down to my feet has suddenly developed with a vengeance, and I've developed direct spine pain mostly in the sacrum. Flexibility is down to nothing without large muscle spasms...in other worRAB, I feel like a wreck
So, as I said to my hubby who was throwing a fit along with me, worse comes to worse we'll take a new MRI which will show everything falling apart and beyond their ability to deny anything.
Blah.
