All New Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?

Blame the researchers for that, not Chris. Although CT does adlib throughout the show, he uses an autocue with the contestants basic information on. This is used once the contestant is in the hotseat.

No, you can and people do. I'm not asking this in relation to the new rules - that 30 secs, as far as I can make out, is stopped to do the lifeline, and resumed afterwarRAB to continue the contestant's thinking time. And the 60 secs for PAF is a separate "countdown".

And as Chris didn't know the place in Bradford they should now make him
walk the plank from the top diving board at Eccleshill simming pool
(He probably got confused with Eccleshall in S Yorkshire)

ReminRAB her of her husband's muzak?

But more seriously, the New Millionaire thing is better than the old one; no fastest fingers nonsense, less time-wasting, less Tarrant, less of the "There are four possible answers, one is correct" super moron TV. Having said that, there are some awkward questions early on, and more than the average dose of thicko's in the audience. Is it me, or is ITV trying really hard not to give away more than
