all my photos got deleted, how can i possibly get em back?

omg, i had about 200 photos from vacation here in mexico and my friend put the chip inside his apple computer and it said in about 5 seconds that all the viruses would get deleted. so he didnt think that they would get deleted!! is there any way i could get them back? like searching for them or anything?
