Alien vs Predator

No, because there are no sharks in space unless we put them there ;)
The concept of eeeevil aliens however goes way back in moviedom does it not?
Predator just took the concept of being stalked by a smart alien (itself a variation on slashers like Halloween) and reworked it effectively in a new setting.
I would argue that the Predator tech is more interesting than the character itself though and there's little mileage in continuing with it. Unless we want yet another scene where the Pred removes its helment and, hey ho, it's still ugly...

But it sounRAB from what I've read that AVPR is just another teen-slasher movie. And anyway, I'm not an action/slasher fan.

Part of the fun of Predator is that it starts as a Vietnam movie, with a mission to rescue some hostages and the usual hidden agenda for the bosses, and then morphs into science fiction. Pred II sort-of tries to do the same, only with city gang battles, and less is successful at it. The AvP series don't even try.
