Alien Quadrilogy - which one ?

I believe that there are two versions of the Alien Quadrilogy 9 disc DVD box set - one which was brought out about 10 years ago, and another, more up-to-date set.
Is this correct, and which one is best (the most extras etc) ?
(This is the DVD, not the Blu Ray)

The packaging may have changed but there is only one release.
The earlier Alien dvd's only had one version each .

The UK set only has a commentary on one version of each film whereas the US version has commentaries on both.

Its high time you got a Bluray player as the Quadrilogy is out in October for around

Yes, I can't be 100% sure but snotrageater is correct. There was the original version of the quadrilogy then a later one which was the same, but came in a slim line boxset.

Actually my post is not clear.
There have been TWO releases of the films but only ONE release of the Quadrilogy which has remained the same content although the packaging has changed over the years , rather like Fox did for The X-Files boxsets too.

Yes , the Legacy was the first release , the Quadrilogy has lots more extras and the Bluray release will have all the extras from before and as far back as the Laserdiscs aswell as additional extras too

There's at least one great documentary on the Legacy set that isn't on the Quadrilogy (I'm thinking about the one concerning the making of Alien - lots of HR Giger and his creations.)

(FWIW, I think the 'new' director's cut of Alien is rubbish, the original is perfect as it is.)

The Bluray release will feature 2 versions of that documentary aswell as the 90 minute The Alien Saga that was made for US and released on a separate dvd in the US
