Alien Prequel

Alien was good the first time. Once all the suspense is lost because you know whats coming, I found it a bit dull. Aliens is awesome, one of my fave movies. Awesome stuff. Alien 3 was a bit dull, Resurrection was ok, but they killed off Michael Wincott WAY too early.

I didn't like AvP much, it made the Predators seem too wimpy, but I enjoyed AvP-R. The Predator in that was badass. I was cheering him on the whole way through. And I liked the way they didn't hold back from killing... well... everyone. Very un-PC, which I approve of wholeheartedly! :D

I'm just excited there's going to be another Alien film! The prequel could be interesting and offer something new. I would still prefer to see the Ripley story end properly. Resurrection was ok but I didn't feel like the story was complete. I'd like to see Ridley handle Alien 5, while he's at it. :)

I don't see how Ripley would be involved in a prequel. As I recall, it's implied Wayland Yatuni knew about the distress beacon before the Nostromo left port, because the android Ash was foisted onto the crew at the last minute without explanation. So probably there had been some human contact that had got information back to W-T. But Ripley wouldn't have been involved in that.

Maybe some of the action is set later, after the first film. I have wondered about Ripley's daughter - maybe that is a character that could be played by Weaver, possibly as an old woman. (As I recall, the daughter died of old age shortly before the start of A2.)
