Alien - In DS no one can hear you scream.

Yes, that was very well done. It's been repeated to death now, though - the calm after all the running around, followed by a shock surprise.

And it was nice to see Sigourney Weaver stripping down to her skimpy undies :o

The poor guy in the Alien suit got stuck several times in the scene where he's flushed out from his hiding place. It was very cramped and the Alien suit was very cumbersome.

Weaver's acting in that scene is just awesome, though, trying to stay calm while absolutely petrified.

Scott has said that he only did the director's cut because he was offered a large wad of money. While the cocoon scene is good, it was removed for a good reason and that was because it ruined the pacing.

Just out of interest, do people have any minor nit-picks with the film regarding continuity, special f/x, etc? I love the film, but some minor things always bugged me:

a) Continuity: when Dallas is crawling around the air ducts he comes across some Alien slime - he scoops some up on his fingers but the amount changes from one shot to the next
b) The dummy of Ash's head is all wrong when Parker flames it - this was apparently due to the inferior latex shrinking before they did the shot and a lack of time and money prevented a re-shoot
c) When Lambert is attacked by the Alien, the legs you see are those of Brett (you see trousers and sneakers/trainers while Lambert wore cowboy boots)
d) Again, when Lambert is attacked by the Alien, the Alien's tail looks pretty hopeless: it's way too inflexible and 'stiff' compared with how it is in some other shots

Okay, all minor nit-picks, but they could easily be fixed with a smidgeon of CGI work. :)
