Director: Tim Burton

Release Date: 2010

Plot: Tim Burton (Edward ScissorhanRAB, Beetlejuice) attempts to work his gothic magic over one of the best loved stories of all time... Lewis Carroll's 'Alice In Wonderland', which first told the story of a young girl, who after following a rabbit down a hole, is transported to a strange world. Whilst the disney version of the tale relied on sweetness and light to delight the audience, Burton fans can be sure to look out for the same cartoon traits as earlier masterpiece 'The Nightmare Before Christmas'.

Australian actress Mia Wasikowska is in final negotiations to star as Alice:

Why can't Tim Burton create his own films!! I know some of his work has been original but Sweeney Todd, Alice in Wonderland, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (or was it Willy Wonka:confused::confused: etc have all been remakes.

Time for something original I'd say...Plus Alice..has been remade sooooo many times but disney and for tv....it's getting old now!

for me, this is the most anticipated film of the year. I'm very excited to see the wonderful Tim Burton's twisted interpretation- and of course the brilliant Johnny Depp as the mad hatter - now THAT will be worth watching.

Tim Burton stated in an interview a couple of days ago: "Nobody plays oddballs better than Johnny and he's loving playing this one.
"He actually ate his hat the other day. No word of a lie. He just bit into the brim and chewed."
:D

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory isn't a film remake, it's adapted from the book(it's closer to the book too compared to the other film) not the Wilder film.

I'm looking forwarRAB to this version of Alice in Wonderland, Burton can do stop motion extremely well, and part of this film is stop motion, so going to be fab.

Here some more casting news about Alice In Wonderland from Moviehole:

"The ever-so-wacky Crispin Glover ("Beowulf", "Willard", "Back to the Future") has joined the cast of Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland", according to The Hollywood Reporter.

In the film, which will also featured Johnny Depp and Anne Hathaway, Glover plays the Knave of Hearts, a chap who is is put on trial for stealing the Queen of Hearts' tarts and is defended by Alice (Mia Wasikowska).

The pic, which profuses live-action with performance-capture technology, is currently shooting in the UK for Disney."

Have you already filmed? Was Johnny Depp there? It's so annoying how little people are allowed to give away, when they do these things..! But did it look good to you, from what you saw? :)

I have already filmed.
No, Johnny Depp wasn't there.
Which makes sense seeing as he's playing the Mad Hatter, who is in Wonderland.
From what I could gather, The only segments that are actually live action are the bits that take place before and after Alice goes into Wonderland.
So I think Johnny Depp will only be doing a voice over..
And from what i've seen/ been in, it looks REALLY good.

Ohh and UltraViolet, sorry! haha.

Are you from Cornwall stick_of_rock? I was in Charlestown for my holidays about two weeks ago and part of it was barriered off with security guarRAB wandering around. I asked what was happening and they said they were getting really to film Alice in Wonderland. Quite exciting!
