Alice in Chains...

AIC is probably the best overall band to come out of the 90's. They didn't ascribe to the grunge ethos of "no solos". Jerry Cantrell is too good not to solo! Them Bones, Down In A Hole, Angry Chair are all great songs with lyrical guitar solos that are reminicent of Randy RhoaRAB and David Gilmour.

Hi i am a big alice in chains my favourite album is dirt iv e seen them twice they are fantastic to all the big alice in chains fans out there

keep rocking

Alice In Chains WERE and ARE good. I especially love Soundgarden's Black Hole Sun. Ok so the film clip is a tad freaky but oh wells.

Compare them to Nirvana?? I dunno.....i also think we're forgetting pearl jam?? haha, but i dont think they weere as good..

I definitely like their slower stuff better than their faster stuff. They did gloomy and depressing really well but kind of sucked when they tried to rock out. Unfortunately, more often than not they opted to try and rock out.

I just went to one of their concerts in Boston, MA. Man was it friggin awesome! I didn't expect for them to play "Sickman," "Dirt," or "We Die Young" but they did! Unfortunately, they didn't play "Heaven Beside You."

Some AiC songs I think they should consider playing live in the future:
"God Am"
"Sludge Factory"
"God Smack"
"Put You Down"
"Over Now" (That is the DEFINITIVE AiC closing song/but Would's okay too)
"Sea Of Sorrow"
"Private Hell"
"Am I Inside"
"Grind"

Overall they NEED to play more from the tripod album, I think all they played from that album at the show I attended was "Again." That is a great song and all, but come on! They couldn't replace "Dirt"(song) with "Grind" or something!?

Oh well, it was a great show none the less.

Yeah.. Im hardcore man :bringit:.. When I post I just kind of get carried away and cant leave out any song that pops into my head that I really like.
I had Dirt for ages but never appreciated them properly until i heard Mtv Unplugged & Jar Of Flies. The other albums are good as well but totally different from the Jar Of Flies like material.

Haha, how can you not like the Untitled track? Its the pinnacle of weirdness, suppose its not for anybody. I actually really like it for some reason (yes even with the snorting and the farting) , although everybody keeps telling me its ****e. Still cant listen to it without laughing though. Man, I can listen to full albums of this **** lol. Just check out King Missile.
Sorry but I feel compelled to post this song again. :D
"KISS THE MIDGET! KISS THE MIDGET!"

As far as Alice in Chains goes, the only album I have is Dirt, which is a great one. I also have some random songs from them on my PC, like 'No Excuses' and 'Man in the Box'.

They are good, but even so, I don't feel inclined to try out more of their stuff. A bit boring.

The template for Staind? Well, maybe in the sense that the Staind singer was a fan of AIC and went out into the world with lesser drive, lesser creativity, lesser brilliance, and started a band, yes.

I think Alice in Chain's non-hits are excellent - they had a signature sound.

:nono: Screaming Trees suck! Lanegan's alright on his own though:

If you havent got/heard this Crash, I can upload it for you.

Facelift is a much better album. Heard Jar of Flies or MTV Unplugged yet?

He looks out of place, and like a knob so I dont really dig the new lineup. For me AIC was all about Layne Staley and Jerry Cantrells wonderful partnership, and without that its just not cricket.

The only probelem with Jar Of Flies is that they didn't have that one great song, insted it was a bunch of ok songs no real great ones.
