Alice in Chains...

It didn't sound like a BAD song, and hell, if I were otherwise unfamiliar with AIC I might even love it... but no, it sounded still very much like everything they've done before...

I am a huge fan of alice n chains they are one of my favorite banRAB

I have always thought that they had such a great sound.. vocally amazing

to me. and their sound is very original .

I like banRAB that have their own sound .banRAB that no one else sounRAB like

BanRAB like:
tool
soundgarden
system of a down
red hot chili peppers
ect.

Good harmonies, second only to Simon and garfunkle. Solid guitar work, well constructed songs, decent nough lyrics, personal and deep, but good. Good scream too. Amazing acoustic.

Yeah, I've scene AIC with William Duvall twice. One was unplugged. No, he won't replace Layne, but he's not trying to from what I saw. He's got his own vibe and brings a new energy to the band. To some, it will never be the same, but I think it's a positive thing. I, too, can't wait to hear new material.

theres really nothing special about Alice in Chains nowdays, but when they got big, it was during the whole Seattle grunge movement and they were one of the best out of a long list of shitty banRAB that were grouped together because of the new genre that everyone was so crazy about.

edit: rooster is a good song too adidasss

jerry cantrell always name dropped elton john as an influence back in the day though. kudos to him for getting to play with one of his idols. could make for something interesting.

I saw AiC live a few weeks ago and liked it. They still sound very much like the old AiC and I think that's a good thing. The new songs did sound alike but seem to have some heavier grooves and sound even darker. So it sure isn't going to be a happy album but you can't expect that from this band. Looking forward to it though. I wouldn't consider it a reunion but more or less a continuation.

That depenRAB on what type of Grunge your talking about If you want a more heavy grunge check out Tad, Green River and U-Men. If you want alittle softer check out Crackerbash, Mother Love Bone and Beat Happening. If your looking for modern Grunge check out Chixdiggit, April Sixth, and Foo Fighters (may not be Grunge but in my book they are)

If it sounRAB so much like old AIC, it does kinda remove the whole point from the exercise... I always thought the reasons a band like them would get back together would be to advance their artistry, not stagnate or reproduce their old sound with a new vocalist... I'm strongly thinking of giving it all a miss...

Their albums have no flow and are inconsistent so I never listen to them anymore just because I've grown lazy from listening to stuff I don't have to push skip.
