Alice in Chains...

Yeah, "Nothing Song" is definitely one of those AIC tracks that you have to let go of all previous Chains expectations in order to get into it. Really ****in' whacked out. Kind of like the last track from the Sap EP, "Love Song" (some people know it as "Bleeding Gums"). "I love you. I'm not coming back, bitch. I can't see! I can't see!"

"Frogs" actually turned into one of my favorite late AIC songs after a long time of listening to them, where as when I was a kid, it was just one of those tracks that kind of got ignored. Kind of like "Head Creeps", which is also a really awesome song.

id have to say my favorite album is the Jar of Flies Ep, the whole album is so moving and bleak at the same time, Dirt is a close 2nd

i cant really pick a favorite song

You're a fool for thinking the likes of RATM or Bob Marley are mainstream, and even if they were (which they're not) how does that in anyway equate to poor music tastes? When RATM came out, they were different, it's only because they we so good, that they're now considered one of the best banRAB of the 90's. Bob Marley is a legend...

Coldplay are mainstream, but again, why does that mean their music is bad?

Edit: I only have AIC's Dirt album, but I think it's very good. Rooster, Bones, Would, Rain When I die, etc are all awesome songs.

You're allowed. No one will hold it against you. It's not like I'm in the band or anything....
That's what is so fun about discussing music. Perhaps you would like to qualify your annoyance?

Nice one!, I feared after reading your username, you may not like them! The 'Jar Of Flies' EP is their best IMO. What stuff have you got by them?

They were a great band. Id say "Them Bones" or "Would" is probably my favorite tune of theirs. Staley had a good voice, but he didnt have a whole lot of range, but it wasnt really needed for their type of music anyhow so its not even an issue. They had some awesome guitar riRAB as well

All I have to say is that if you say "Alice in chains SUX" before you look into them your a moldy anal bead. Seriously, I don't like ALL of their songs, but theres clearly talent within the group. How many hits have they had? Yeah, shut up.

Rooster: Is actually about Jerry Cantrell's dad in the vietnam war. Look up the lyrics, I though it was pretty cool myself.

Would?: Captures a darker melodic side of Alice in Chains

Them Bones: A good snapshot of heavy Alice in Chains

Alice in Chains are touring with Mudvayne and Hurt this year, less than a month away. Im pumped.

I disagree too, unless all you listen to is mainstream rock radio. They were an influence to many mid/late 90s and even 00s "alternative" rock banRAB already. Respect to AiC but we've heard enough of those. :p:

I've given their album quite a few listens now and I love it! Great dark grooves and strong songs. It gets better every time I listen to it. DuVall doesn't try to copy Staley which is good. One of the best rock albums of the moment I think.

1.Why?, Because they are from seattle?...Jimi Hendrix is grunge then.
2.If you think hes untalented, your knowledge of metal (and music in general)
is poor.
3.And whenever you talk to me. =)

I saw them in Milwaukee... and oh my god... it was the greatest night of my life... William DuVall (the new lead singer) was AMAZING! If i closed my eyes I could've sworn it was Layne! I was impressed. They did some acoustic songs and had a slideshow of pics and videos of Layne. I cried! I was in the front row for the entire first half until i got crushed (i'm little) and then stood at the back, but could still see pretty well. At one point, I could've reached out and touched Jerry Cantrell... yummy... he had this amazing beard then! It looked surprisingly good. The opening band was "Hurt" and they are appropriately named because my ears bled from the volume of their cyrabals... jeez... i've started hearing them on the radio now... i like some of their songs... but they're very repetitive and they dressed like women (tight jeans and low-cut shirts) and their lead singer was very obnoxious and over-acted A LOT! (reminded me a lot of James Hetfield, but not in a good way) so yeah... i heard a rumor that AIC will be at free ozzfest this year... but probably is just a rumor... if you EVER get the chance to see them TAKE IT!!! Nothing will EVER top that night!
