Albums You're Not Digging

I've heard a lot but I'm certainly no expert. I remeraber Janszoon once said something like he had no reason to listen to Bowie since there's Tubeway Army and Gary Numan. I silently, wholeheartedly agreed. I can give him more chances but I think I've heard everything that I'm supposed to like and don't like any of it. Sorry, Bowie:(

Pure Reason Revolution - Hammer and Anvil (2010)

An EP's worth of ideas stretched out to an LP. Take some time off guys and go back and listen to what made you great.

I can completely see where you're coming from, while I don't mind the album I think it receives a lot more hype (especially on this forum) than it deserves. But yeah, have to agree that the album art is pretty awesome though.

The darn annoying Eminem album my eldest son loves to death.... oh well, i guess its pretty normal for kiRAB to choose music that grates on their parent's nerves...

Ok this album gets talked up a lot around here so I finally decided it was worth my time to check out. Am I missing something? Should I play it a few more times? SounRAB like a guy decided to start rarabling with an acoustic and some guys passed by with other instruments and decided to play along. I was expecting so much more...

Figured this might spark some discussion here. So tell me...wtf.

Arcade Fire - The Suburbs

Earlier Arcade Fire albums at least feigned a pulse or sense of emotional attachment to the music. This is very 'by the nurabers' and safe. Oftentimes, when the singers would enrage and passionately cry out of key or out of order on Funeral, it simply made sense. It sounded out of place, and gave the album more or less of a quirk or two. Here, there's nothing out of place. It's far too calculated and unbelievably refined of any passion.

I was never big on Funeral to begin with, and Neon Bible is about the same for me. The Suburbs is simply a cut below.

Can't people like or dislike anything these days without being labelled as trying to be hipster or trying to counteract the hipster trend to make themselves more hipster?! Whatever happened to just liking or disliking an album without any ulterior motives...

What I fear is that I got it, I just didn't like what I got.

He transmits a rather strong rural and arid southern american atmosphere, am I right in saying this?

I could never seem to get into that album. There's a handful of great songs on it, namely 'Microcastle', 'Agoraphobia' and 'Never Stops'. But the album just seems to plod on and on without anything else really grabbing your attention, i often find myself hitting the stop button before the album is near finished.

I had a feeling it might not be too long before that album appeared on this board... it's garnering a very love it or hate it reputation around here...
