Albums You Hate By Bands You Love

Every band has a finest work even if it's a piece of poo.

Hybrid Theory is the only album I've heard but I assume it's their best work because a band like that can only get progressively worse.

I'm suprised you like 90125, I thought you were anti-mainstream/Top 40 music.

When I said "Popular" I don't mean at rab, I meant 90125 out sold every other album Yes made. I really like Steve Howe and the songs on Drama, even though that album was Yes/Buggles hybrid I like that type of 80's muisc better than music of 90125, so I'm disappointed with 90125, and especially because that was Yes-sans-Steve Howe, but then on the upside of not being in Yes at that time was Asia.

I love that album to bits but I do miss the prog and electronica elements. I guess that period is over for them. :(

I think it's pretty mediocre save In The Evening.

It's like they were trying to do a White Album kinda thing, experimenting with other genres of music, but it just doesn't work, and while I love Zeppelin's folk and eastern side. Here they really found their limitations. They try everything, reggae/saraba (Fool in the Rain), rockabilly (Hot Dog), soft rock (All My Love) and prog (Carouselarabra) but they all fall flat on their face, they just sound boring and lifeless, pale imitations of the real thing. In The Evening suceeRAB because it's the one moment where they're just being themselves.

I actually think Coda is better, it at least sounRAB like Zeppelin and the tracks are at least decent if nothing remarkable.

Well a great artist always neeRAB to evolve. And sometimes there's a few bumps on the way.

Agreed. I'm surprised he doesn't have a FoxNews program yet.

It does grow on you.

For the longest time "The Mollusk" was my favorite Ween album but after lengthy plays of "La Cucaracha" it began to overtake it. "12 Golden Country Greats" is probably my second favorite Ween album.

Yeah I'm not a fan of the electronic tracks on that EP. I like the electronic flourishes they put into their songs, but I don't want techno songs from them.

Recent albums which represented a shift in sound that I absolutely hated...

'Hate', maybe not. I like quite a few songs, and really like some, but overall, this album offers nothing that it supposedly does with the almighty 'listen all the way through'.

My favorite review of this album said listeners would feel 'rather gypped'. Boy, do I feel that.

I think he means on a meanstream level not a critical level or among fellow proggers.

In which case he's right.

I like 90125, it's a pop album but a good pop album.

Now Big Generator, that's when things really went to crap.
