Albums You Hate By Bands You Love

Barbarism is ok, but it goes on way too long and doesn't really go anywhere (I've heard a live version that's a bit better but still nothing special). The title track is sort of forgetable. It's not as awful as some people say, but it's not the great album closer that Suffer Little Children was. That Joke Isn't Funny Anymore has its moments, but the part about "people who feel so very lonely their only desire is to die" bit kills me, and again, it sounRAB like an early prototype for I Know It's Over.

I won't go into How Soon Is Now. :)

Suit Of Lights and Brilliant Mistake are amazing tunes; I could do without the rest of KOA.

On GCW, I really love Joe Porterhouse for some reason. Sour Milkcow Blues is great too. The Comedians is interesting because Roy Orbison's performance is so much better, but Costello's version (arguably) has the better lyrics (on GCW, there's the line "All that glitters is not chrome"; on Mystery Girl, Costello reverted to the cliche "All that glitters is not gold"...why?). I can definitely see why most people hate the album, though.

When I first heard D+D, I was convinced it was one of Springsteen's three best albums. The production really kills it, though, and some of the songs are incredibly weak. I do like Black Cowboys. I saw him on the D+D tour, and I just can't help thinking that the album would have been a true masterpiece with a few rewrites and Nebraska-style arrangements.

Eric Clapton - Pilgrim

Black Crowes - Three Snakes and One Charm

Neil Young - Living With War

Pink Floyd - The Final Cut

John Fogerty - Revival

'' A Bigger Bang''.....and it was a pretty good album. The only problem was a couple of filler songs. And I hate using the term ''filler songs'', but it's true.

As a big Rolling Stones fan, I'd say ''Bridges to Babylon'' (1997) was incredibly bad.

Opeth - Watershed

I don't think that I love Opeth...atleast not anymore and this is the album which made me almost hate them. I just hate this album so much.

Also, he looks like a poster boy for plastic surgery .. on prozac. Chicken skin stretched over a skeleton.

He still has his trademark sneer, although that certainly doesn't make things any better.

Billy, man .. What happened? :(

Ween - La Cucaracha
Maybe if I played this more it would grow on me. But really you could say that about any album...you hear it enough times you know the songs and may like them. But there's just really nothing that interests me about it. The songs just seem lame, rehashed, and boring to me. Each album previously seemed to offer something new and exiting but not here.

....He had that album based on miRABummer night's dream or something, and some really dorky creative choices(not good dorky), that makes me erabarrased to listen to him sometimes.

....it's a shame about the nuge because he's an awesome guitar player, just a terrible songwriter and a right wing blowhard.

Yes are working on a new album right now and I was excited as hell, hoping for a solid follow up to Magnification, but my hopes have been crushed now that Jon is out of the band and got replaced by that funny noises guy from Full House.

Queensryche - Hear in the Now Frontier
-What the hell happened here?

W.A.S.P. - Helldorado
-Rarely do I find that "return to roots" albums are actually good.

KISS - Carnival of Souls
-Even though fans bootlegged the album, the band should have left it unreleased.

Their first album isn't very prog at all, it's very straight-forward as you said. BanRAB gotta start somewhere. The only song I like on that album is 'Working Man'. I don't hate the rest, just don't really like it.
