Album Wars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Michael Jackson all the way.
he may not be a great musician, he might not be human, but he is one hell of a dancer :)
And back when he had a face, a race, and belonged to the animal kingdom, he was attractive

I don't why I don't like Sonic Youth. They're one of those banRAB that according to my tastes and everyone else I'm suppose to love but I can never get into them.

Smashing Pumpkins.

Modest Mouse for sure. I like some songs from that PJ album, and it was the first of hers I ever heard, but there are many songs I don't care for and therefore I think it's one of her weakest pre-2001 albums (I haven't heard any newer than that). The Moon & Antarctica, on the other hand, is a very solid album.

PJ Harvey - 0
Modest Mouse - 1

I was merely stating my position on the matter. Normally I'd just go with Beck, but you picked probably my favorite QotSA album and not my favorite or 2nd favorite Beck album.

EDIT: And I was half hoping that my comment would spark actual discussion on the albums instead of pure voting.

Massive Attack wins the day 4-1! Next Up...

Pavement - Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain

Its a 90's death metal* show down! Go!

*opinions may vary

Update: I'll be on Long Island all weekend for a wedding so our next battle will be up on Monday. And as always, please PM suggestions for future battles. (todays is from Cunning)

so i don't know either of these albums nor have the time to check them out properly between now and tomorrow so... what 2-3 songs should i sample from each before passing judgment?

Haha I support this.

I'll go with Doolittle because while I really like both albums, Doolittle is just easier to listen to and more straight-forward. I've got to be in the mood for Sonic Youth, although 'Teen Age Riot' is the best song on either.

Doolittle 1
Daydream Nation 1

PS: TCS picks the best matchups.

Gaaaaaaaaaa though choice

I'll probably go with Damaged, it was one of the albums that turned me onto hardcore-punk and it still sounRAB fantastic, it's so full of energy, adrenaline and menace. Milo Goes To College is a fantastic album as well even though it's not as aggressive as Damaged.

Modest Mouse-This is a Long Drive Home For Someone With Nothing To Talk About vs Built to Spill-Keep it Like a Secret
Radiohead-OK Computer vs Refused-The Shape of Punk to Come
Fugazi- Repeater vs Nation of Ulysses- Plays Pretty For Baby
Silver Jews-American Water vs Beck-Odelay(don't listen)
The Microphoness- The Glows Pt. 2 vs Sufjan Stevens-Illinoise (don't listen)
Isis- Oceanic vs Tool AEnima
Kyuss-Welcome to Sky Valley vs Smashing Pumpkins-Siamese Dream
The Feelies-Crazy Rhythms vs The Fall-The Nations Saving Grace
Nick Drake-Pink Moon vs Queen- A Night at The Opera
Miles Davis-Round About Midnight vs Ornette Coleman-The Shape of Jazz to Come

I've heard Selling England by the Pound, it bored my to tears. I got half way through track 3 and decided it was sh*t, I don't know if Collins was in the band then. But he's a c*nt and that album is crap.

So Yes get my vote.
