i love that PJ Harvey disc, some tracks have started to show their age, but the majority is timeless and still makes all the hair on my arms stand on end.

Modest Mouse: 4
PJ Harvey: 1

(also who broke the Monster Magnet / Clutch tie?)

About a year ago I couldn't get enough of it and listened to it all the time to the point that I got bored with it. I guess i'll give it another listen in the next few weeks.

You were complaining that people weren't appreciated the Stripes--I was trying to tell you that I do appreciate the Stripes, but I happen to appreciate Rubber Factory even more...

Yeah I'm up for it, it takes 5 votes to declare the winner right?

Also I'd recommend that everyone uses a point system to make it less confusing for me to keep score with. For example after I post a match up I post the two albums names like this

Album A 0
Album B 0

And to vote you just add to one of those nurabers.

Album A 1
Album B 0

And whichever gets to the winning nuraber first is the victor. Simple. Can everyone follow that?

Ramones win 12-1!!!!!!!!!! This next one's for hobojesus!!! Next Match:

Their worst? It's not their best, but I have a definite soft spot for 77. This is a tough one, though...I do love that GOF album. I'm gonna go with TH just so the range isn't so extreme.

Talking HeaRAB: 6
Gang of Four: 8

Good point, as the idea is to generate discusssion and hopefully listen to albums that you might not know very well. To be honest, most of the albums that are put up in the "Album Wars" are usually considered great or classic albums of their genre. I`ve not actually seen an album here that I would say was crap.

I can see though, that a lot of people who are not overly into prog rock not going with Genesis here (Gabriel era Genesis was brilliant but also very peculiar) and their early 70`s sound was extremely whimsical as opposed to the borabastic style of Yes. A better match up probably would`ve been Genesis v Jethro Tull here.
