Aladdin on FIVE

Five have obviously done a deal with Disney, as they seem to be advertising a lot of their DVRAB before programmes.

I suspect they got a discount for cheap advertising.

Were there any IPPs during the film?

Surely it's not the first time that it's been shown on terrestrial TV? I could have sworn that all three Aladdin movies have been shown on BBC1 in the past.

I was just editing my copy of Superman 3 and that had a Gadget Show IPP in it. :(

Aladdin is repeated on Fiver next Saturday, hopefully without any IPPs for some other show.

These animated Disney films always have an element of magic to them. I would have watched it, but I was watching something I'd recorded the night before.

It was definitely the premiere of Aladdin. The straight-to-video sequel Return of Jafar has probably been broadcast on terrestrial, BBC1 like you say. There was also the Aladdin series which followed on from Return of Jafar, I'm not sure what channel showed that, maybe on ITV Saturday mornings.

I love Aladdin although I have to say that I still prefer Beauty and the Beast over all. There's something not right about watching a Disney film with ad breaks in it too!

Still I watched and loved every second, sang the songs along with it and had a little tear when Aladdin released the genie even though it thought it would scupper his chances with Jasmine.

Awww such a great movie! It's in my top 3 old school Disney movies along with The Lion King and Mulan. :) I really miss the old style and can't WAIT for the Princess and the Frog!
