Akira Toriyama's Dragon Ball Manga turns 25!!

That's right kiRAB, it's 12/3/2009 in Japan, do you know what that means? It means Dragon Ball by Akira Toriyama has just turned 25 year old. Twenty-five years ago, Akira Toriyama--known for poop gags and android girls that could crack the planet in half with a punch--began the serialization of Dragon Ball. For 519 chapters across 11 years Akira Toriyama would continue the tale of Son Gok
 
Ah yes, the launch of one of the biggest manga/anime-based franchises of all time finally celebrates its quarter-centennial. Happy birthday, Dragon( )Ball.
 
WOW! 25, I thought Dragonball was already 20 years old.
But damn, 20 years and yet this series still known. Thats saying something.
 
Happy birthday. For all the jokes to be made about the series now that we've grown, we all owe it a debt for it's role in shaping the shonen anime series we talkback about today, and the U.S. anime industry.

(Although this only partially pertains to the manga version).
