AKIRA Movie 2 & 3?

I was wondering since Akira the Animated feature was Made from the first Two novels, does anyone know if or when they are going to make the other novels into movies? if they are not, do you know the reason why? did the first one do bad in Japan? etc. I know The First Movie was made Years ago and I've been a fan of the Manga and Movie since.
 
The Akira movie is made up of the first two books and the last one. It is not an unfinished movie by any means. It is simply a very streamlined version of the manga series, and a different interpretation.

You're better off just hoping for a TV series if you want a fuller version animated. There is no point tacking on another ending on top of a movie that already ended.
 
What I was Going for is that they could do the same thing what Geniex has done with Evangelion. Reanimate the Original movie and conclude it at the respectable 2 volume. then Make two other Movies for the remaining Volumes. The Mangas ending is completely different than the Movies Ending. But that would be cool to see it done. but I'm just wishfully thinking. Also a Animated series would be cool too.
 
Sorta but not quite. Otomo was still working on the chapters that make up Volume 5 when he suspended the manga for one year to do the movie. Volume 6 was compiled and published from 1989 to 1990. One year after the fact.
 
Yes, but it's quite obvious Otomo had the destination mapped out before he ended the manga series. The last 20-30 pages are nearly identical to the anime movie's ending, except the manga was juggling more side characters in the chaos, of course.
