Ajax help: How to load content dynamically from an internal site folder.?

I want to be able to load all of the html pages in a folder dynamically (like image slideshows do) into a menu of sorts. Is there any scripts, help pages, tutorials, or perhaps you can tell me how to do such a thing? Thanks :)
