aim on tmobile

I installed the latest version of aim mobile on my pearl 8100. It loads up and works til the login. Says service not available. Tried on my girls 8700 also and same results. Anyone else on ymo have that problem?

I have a Curve with TMO and my AIM is working.

Do you have a data plan for either device? I think the new version of aim mobile requires an internet package to work where the old OZ instant messenger worked off of text messages.

Natesax7 is correct. AIM requires a BB data plan. You need to make sure your plan includes access to the IM clients as well. Definitely sounds like you don't have the AIM service book (Options, Advanced Opitons, Service Books). If you had the service, you would have a service book that starts with AIM -BBIM.

I had the same problem when I got my 8100 (I don't have data). I installed 4.5 and BAM! OZ worked! lol

some versions of the 4.5 os i've noticed doesnt seem to support aim, if you go to www.blackberry.com/instantmessaging you can get all the latest updates for the IM clients

You have to make sure that you have a 4.5 OS for the latest AIM 2.0 (the latest) to work. If you have that, an internet plan, then it should work. If it doesn't then see if other instant messaging clients work, if they do then you just need the AIM service books. If they don't then you probably have a problem with your service or settings.

Oh and like Jonnyxedge said make sure you get AIM for this url:
www.blackberry.com/instantmessaging

Not from aim.com sometimes they offer different versions that aren't compatible.

Yahoo and MSN work, so I assume I need the AIM service book, how do i go about getting it sent out to me?
