Has anyone gotten either of the RIM versions of these softwares to work on your Tmobile BB? As far as I can tell these jerks are forcing me to pay to use their OZ client which is not going to happen. I have ramble for AOL which disconnects every five seconds, and I'm not paying for Jive when there are free apps out there. Tmobile blocks me from downloading Live Messenger and AIM for my BB from the official RIM (as I'm sure you all know) but there has to be a work around. If I could get my grubbly little hands on the Windows installers for them... I bet I could get it to work somehow. I have the updated service books, just can't download the stinking software. The only reason I wont use OZ is because they force messages through SMS which is much slower and limited, not to mention pricey if you don't have a plan (which my company will not pay for). I use Yahoo fine, but there's a few contacts I cannot get to convert because they're diehards. Hell, even the boss uses AIM and refuses to use anything else.
 
There have been a select few that have gotten it to work on TMO. When it was first leaked, I could download the program, but couldn't get it to work, now it won't even let me download it. http://www.blackberry.com/aim from the BB if you wanna give it a try. And I've attached the zip file that has a ipd file with the service books, courtesy of BG. Good luck.

But yes, I'd vote for JiveTalk, it's got all your IM needs right there in one program, save space and frustration. The $29 is well worth it.
 
I've got the updated service books and all... just can't get it to work. Not gonna pay for Jive when there are free apps out there. I just wanted a way to connect to my buddies on Xbox Live and my boss... Ramble continually disconnects me for no good reason. Can't figure it out.
 
I tried every free app out there and ALL of them have disconnect issues. Some only allow access to one messenger at a time (OZ Client). Trust us. Once you use the 30 day trial for JiveTalk, you will LOVE IT. I hated it at first but I gave it a second try and am hooked now. It's just like chatting on your PC.
 
think of jivetalk as like xbox live. y would you pay for an online account when you can use the wii/playstation 2/3 FREE online capabilities? Your Paying $60/year or $6/Month.

i had the same mentality as yourself, y in the world would i pay for chatting software when i can get it FREE on a computer!??
but as a fellow programmer i know the amount of time , energy and work thats put in to make such fantastic programs as jive, and i FULLY support them.

just TRY the FREE THIRTY (30) day trial for jive, see how it works out for you; in the mean while just save $1 a day for 20/30 days.
its only a one time fee, unlike xbox live which is a recurring bill.

TRUST us, it is WORTH the money. you can either go the free route and be burdened with constant disconnects , or pay and be rest assured that your assest works!
