Ahhhh broken N73 joystick

Ok so it's not just the cap it's the whole joystick that broken if this happens? Well damn is cnn.cn the only place to order it, they seem over priced and I don't want to wait forever for the part to come from China either.
 
Don't know how it happened. I looked down and the joystick was gone. Looking at cnn.cn it's just the joystick and not the cap as well.
 
Recieved my part over the weekend and went ahead and changed the board.. managed to do it but was hard work for me lol!! Plus the phone isnt quite the same now, few scratches from trying to get the LCD bit off, theres a dark spot on the LCD now and it gets worse when i press the left softkey...

Oh well at least the joystick works now!!
 
Tke it apart and tighten the screws up, thats what courses the screen issue, mine did that after i had changed the housing so took apart tightened up the screws specially one under the screen and its fine now
 
My friend's joystick cap fell off~ dunno how but it did. my friend claimed that just the cap is missing. I ordered a joystick cap off cnn.cn but my order somehow disappeared. Anyway... i was wondering what are the steps involved in replacing the joystick cap?? Just push the cap back into the joystick?? Thanks
 
I tried that but it kept falling off.. i wouldnt recomend super gluieng it because thats how i busted mine.. maybe pinch the sides off the cap with a tool so that its harder to clip on?
 
so did you guys just order a pre-assembled panel or just try to stuff the joystick cap back into the joystick??? and i tried to search for a way to open the case yet i cant seem to find the thread~ anyone know where it went?
 
I lost mine by sleeping on it, :P

i found it, pushed it back in and then thought well how bout now, and fiddled with it and it flew off, couldn't find it so i rang my insurance company they sant one out the next day, admin fee applied, as soon as i got off the phone i felt something under my foot and there it was, so now i have a spare joystick end. I spent an hour looking for it, and then it just appeared. I live in the UK btw.
 
Yeah i used a pointy thing too but didnt seem to wanna come off... took me bout half an hour to get it off!! You got any tips to help me out??
 
anyone has a step by step guide for swapping the entire joystick, keypad unit??? im trying to fiddle with my friend's n73 which her brother lost the joystick cap from playing games on it~

just be carefull when your removing the LCD frame bit as its tricky and bends easy.. Also there are a few chips to remove and clip back on, be carefull here also.. When you put it back together be sure to screw the screws in TIGHTLY otherwise you get a dodgy screen like me.. Also my volume button isnt working properly so make sure thats ok before re-assembling

the front plate pops off, there is a guide to do this on Hofo. Just search

i couldnt find it even when i used the search~
anyway.... so i should just screw the screws back as tightly as humanly possible???
it seems like more work than what i want to do... but meh... ill give it a try once cnn.cn process my disappeared order that i paid for =(
