Age of consent question?

In mississippi the age of consent is 16. Now, what i have been wondering is what does that mean? Like if someone that was 21 had sex with someone that was 16 would that be illegal? and could the parents have anything to do with it?
 
Be careful. The last I heard, the age of consent is 18.If someone who is 21 had sex with someone who is 16, the 21-year-old could be in big trouble with the law. The 16-year-old, or her parents, or a random stranger, could report it to the police, and the 21-year-old would have a record as a child sex molester.
