After U340 Cricket bin flash no ERI

okay, so i followed the tut on flashing the u340 and I have no PRL or ERI... I have entered the codes listed here and from the tut, neither make the PRL or ERI appear in Menu Settings PhoneInfo Version. I have tried loading the PRL using CDMA Workshop, QPST, SPST_Lite and none stay. I feel I am not a newb. I have cricket firmware loaded okay, just cant get PRL or ERI. I got the ESN to take right off the bat. So if anyone has a solution, post it please... Thanks

Tell them about it. What I do with every MEID u340 I sell I give the customer a slip of paper with their MEID ESN and the MEID DEC and the dial code how to manually program their phone and a warning that the phone won't OTA right. Never had any complaint from anybody. Honesty is the best policy.

As for the prl, 1042 is one of the newest ones.

when you enter the codes you should notice the yellow orangish circle on the top right of the screen go away...if so, then the codes have served their purpose...

to load prl, use patagonia for the old esn u340s and qxdm for the new meid u340s...

enjoy.

yeah...i've done a lot of these and they were all verizon inpulse...

they flash fine, but you want to flash the cricket .bin file, enter the codes as described here, and then use patagonia to write the prl...

enjoy and happy hacking...

Thanks, I tried using QXDM like you suggested but phone still shows None for PRL and ERI and H is blank

I just noted under Version in Phone Info (in the phone menu):

PRL: None
S:U340.AG27
H:
ERI: None

Maybe H being blank is my issue?

Note: using same steps on another phone PRL shows in Menu but not ERI or H; and I dont have a signal (just red circle with slash). Other phone with no PRL shows R and has signal...

WTH!!!

How do I get ERI back?
Any ideas on what to do to get the PRL to load on the one phone? I have reflashed it 3 times tring Normal and Emergency but it doesnt make a difference....

Does anyone have an original Verizon bin that I can use to flash back to Verizon?
Thanks

i have been working on these u340 inpulses alot lately and i believe that the reason for the OTA not working is the firmware itself. now hear me out the firmware only accepts the 8 digit hex ESN, just like the non-inpulse u340, so for the ones that have MEIRAB you will have to write the pESN which is the MEID nuraber converted down to a 8 digit hex pseudo ESN. now if there is a way for the Full 14 digit MEID to be written to the phone then maybe the OTA will work. this is because the pESN can not be converted back to the MEID so you have to activate your phone with the meid the system wont accept pESNs, pESN can be identified by the first two nurabers which is 80. the pESN wont associate that nuraber with your account as far as MDN and MINs are concerned.

Yeah, I have a Verison Impulse that works great on Cricket... except for one thing. Picture messaging doesn't work. The Cricket guy said it had to do with the PRL he wrote. I'm not much of a coder, and I don't know jack about cell phones, but if it's possible to make picture messaging work then I gotta figure it out and I could use all the help I can get.

what you want ot do is enter the codes exactly as they are listed...

then use QXDM 2.08, put your prl in the root of your C: drive, and enter the following commanRAB:

mode offline-d

spc "000000" **or wahtever your spc is**

pr_list_wr 0 "C:\prlname.prl" **put 1040 or whatever the name of your prl is where it ways prlname**

mode reset

those commanRAB should write your prl...after the pr_list_wr command QXDM should respond "normal completion" ...that means that your prl was written to the phone...

DO NOT PM ME asking for QXDM 2.08 or anything else...find everything on your own...you must use that version because the commanRAB are obsolete in the newer versions...

Okay, I got the PRL figured out; I was loading wrong one. (I was loading the wrong one 01050 which is evdo)

What about the ERI? Is it just going to show up as None?
What about the H? Is it just going to show up blank?

Cricket is starting in my area. I dont have a current PRL for it. Can I use QXDM to download it from a Cricket phone released in my area? If yes, please tell me the command to read it.

Thanks!!!

the mms works fine...there is a firmware bug on the u340 that sometimes stops mms from being received at all (no notification or anything)...i havev yet to develope a solution because all the ones i activate on my account work with no issues, but my customers keep complaining of a problem...

hmmmm...maybe you need full wap access because i have the $50 plan and have no issues...i seem to find more issues on any of the lower plans...even if a plan has the wap added for $5 per month, i still cannot get web to work on some phones...then, if i upgrade the custy to $50 plan, all works well...

i guess i'lll look into it a little more...i need to fugure out a smooth fix for this phone b/c it's only $30 at target...lol

it has been reported that flashed devices need WAP to do MMS correctly.

regarding the issue with receiving MMS, the newest cricket firmware fixes this problem.... not sure which bin is circulating tho...

most current 1x non-roaming prl for any area is 1042...

get it and all your prls at www.corolada.com/prl

enjoy. if you put that prl on the phone, then you can *228 for roaming accounts and get the roaming prl for your are...then read the phone with QPST-->Service Programming and save the .qcn file...then open that .qcn with QPST-->RL Editor and save the .prl file...now you have the prl to manually write...

enjoy.

Has anyone been able to write an meid to the u340 i have the newest version of cdma workshop but after i send the password and type in the meid it says failed. I have tried the default and u340 password. also i have tried putting in both the meid hex and the decimal. and i havent been able to get it to stick.
Any suggestions?

when you select" Samsung Default" password on cdma workshop, does it say "Unlocked" or something, when you click send?

here's what I do,
Convert the MEID and get the HEX nuraber

- connect the phone with cdma workshop, find com port
and click connect,

-then i click on qcdm, even though it will say failed, phone not detected.
-then i click on disconnect and connect again.

then I go to the password section in the security tab and select
"samsung default" and click Send.

Then i type in the HEX of the phone and click on write
then write spc, write prl, close program, save changes and restart phone

but I do all of these steps AFTER i have done the CODES PROCEDURE

yea i think those instructions work to write the pESN not the actual meid. i can write those but i was wondering if someone had written an actual meid to the phone

Ahh, so it's a firmware issue. "firmware" ...now there is a word I am familiar with! (I'm pretty into the whole PSP scene) :P That would make sense. I have the $50 plan with WAP, and the issue that I never receive mms. I guess I need to find this firmware update somewhere. And then, probably bug you guys with wtf to do with it! lol...

And yeah, $30 at target... It's a great phone for what it is. I'm gettin back into programming midi lol... but ummm, simple3 if u remeraber what thread you were reading or anything at all point me in the right direction!
