it depends. mostly it means that someone up top saw something in you, and wants you to have responsibility in order to develop more. no matter how 'good' a leader is, it is NEVER a bad thing to be put in charge of a small group to practice your small-unit leadership skills.
every big unit is based on that small unit, which consists of individuals.
if youve been slotted for a billet lit flt/cc take it for what its worth-youre going to be in charge of twenty or so other cadets, helping each other to grow into better leaders all around.
