Hi, Just got my N93 and it has the old firmware.
I really want to update it, but i'm fearing the worst.
I did update my N80 with phoenix succesfully, but when i did it when the second firmware came out....I ended up killing it?

What does cause the updating to fail? I just got this phone yesterday and it would just be horrible to kill it. Anyway in increasing your chances of a succesfull flash using the Nokia updater?

also while it is downloading the firmware and your internet connection stop, will it also fail??
any word of advice?

If u doing it via nsu then maybe your Dsl dissconnect or your power get Cut that takes too much time to install & download , download a firmware & flash it with phoenix it's takes less then 5 min !

Hi Blue13x,
If you follow the instructions and don't touch the phone whilst it is updating and remain patient it is a smooth and painless experience well it was in my case anyway.

im having issues getting mine to update, i too am on the oldest version of the firmware

Im using the NSU it finds new firmware okay and downloads it okay
but gets about 5% through and i get a message saying the update failed try again later.

Ive tried a few times and nothing chnages any ideas ?

I made a paperweight out of my E70 by performing the flash with only 3 bars of battery. After I recovered the phone, I've never flashed a phone without it plugged into the charger again.

Same thing happened to me, untill i closed the software for my bluetooth keyboard.
Basically close ALL other programs, including virus scanners. All the apps next to clock, close them all.
That's how I managed to do it. The app that was causing the prolem was next to the clock in the notifcation bar of windows. Also pt it in the "General profile" and when connected to pc slect "PC SUITE MODE"
Try that, and do update us on how it went,

Also charge the phone full, and keep it charging when updating and DO NOTTT touch the usb cable or phone when updating.
