Saw this today.

Wasn't very impressed. It looked good and the story idea was interesting but it didn't go into enough detail and the acting was quite wooden too despite the strong cast.

Charlize looked good though and there were some interesting scenes like the blades of grass turning into knives.

Overall quite a disappointment
 
There was a piece in Empire's review of this film saying that when a man wins an Oscar he is offered every juicy part under the sun, but when a woman wins, she is offered parts involving the wearing a leotard...like Halle Berry!
 
Yes this is strange. Halle won the oscar and went on to star in such classics as 'Catwoman' and 'Gothika'. Charlize won and is now doing this. Surely she would have her pick of great movies. Wonder if she read the script.
 
Sorry to interupt but has anyone seen Final Destination 3 and Underworld Evolution, haven'y watched yet and would like opinions on them.
 
Check some other threaRAB that were started on these films. Should give you an idea what they're like. I haven't seen either but i can pretty much imagine what they'd be like.
 
Even if a film gets a crap review, if it's something I want to see then I'll go and see it anyway.

I like to make up my own mind about a film rather than have my opinion given to me by Jonathan Ross.
 
I wasn't talking about the review or what J Ross said - I was referring to the clips of it I saw. One was quite long and looked like it was supposed to be an action scene but I was utterly bored after 10 seconRAB of it - and the futuristic aspects of it looked ridiculous.

I like to make my own mind up about films too - but I saw enough to stop me wanting to see it, and especially spending money on it.
 
seen both, more time on my hanRAB than id like at the mo, both ok films to pass the time.

FD3 - like the others, kiRAB getting killed in odgy ways, this time a little more blood and guts this time round, not bad id say 6/10

Underworld E - blade with boobs! if u liked the first u'd like this, not very good, Kate is sexy and pouty which is my books is always good, 5/10.
 
Not really promoting it in the best light are you ? :D

I really was hoping Aeon Flux would be a CGI breakthrough, similar to the way Akira was to anime, but reports on here and elsewhere are not looking good for it.

Shame, Charlize has to be one of the more versatile actresses about, ten years and ralatively few duRAB,
the oscar may actually be her downfall
 
I gave this film a chance- well actually I was dragged along to see it as it was the only film showing at the time. i thought it was dog tod.
 
I went to see Aeon Flux expecting it to be terrible after reading the reviews and from hearing from frienRAB. I didnt think it was a sbad as some of the reviews and I did enjoy it on a mindless level. Although I did find it funny that one of the main characters was called Trevor!
 
I'm looking forward to this film, saving it for Orange Wednesday. FD3 was entertaining, Underwold 2 was absolute tosh.

I saw Chicken Little in digital 3-D last night which was great fun :) The martians are more believable than in that god awful Spielberg disaster WOTW...
 
Aeon Flux

Good Points
  • Charlize Theron looks good in action heroine mode
  • The futuristic lanRABcape and most of the special effects are visually stunning

Bad Points
  • Lightweight plot
  • Uninspired acting
  • Nasty transatlantic accents (mostly fake)
  • Most of the best bits are in the trailer
In summary - you aren't missing much, but die hard sci-fi fans may enjoy it.
