Advice on using an excer-cycle?

I'm getting ready to purchase an excercycle. I'm a pretty hefty girl, [280 lbs] and looking to drop some weight. Do you have any tips or advice on using an excer-cycle? Such as when to cycle, how long? Do I stretch? Would it be in my best interest to keep the television off or on?


Thanks in advance for not making any rude comments about my weight. I am trying to get this issue under control in order to be healthier!
