My current car is a Chevy Cavalier with 101k miles. About six months ago, I spent $600 to get a new water heater for it. A month or so ago, the car started driving a lot less smoothly, and now my brakes are going out- I think it's the calipers and the brake pads, possibly more. The blue book value has steadily decreased, and trade-in value is at around $1300, AFTER I fix the brakes.
Should I attempt to have the brakes fixed, or should I just start looking for used vehicles?
I'm assuming the brake problem is going to cost between $300-$700.
