Stock shocks are all the way down & the bike still sits high. When the wife gets on it literally only drops 1/2 inch. She's light (~105lbs) so I bet we could lower that bike 2 to 3 inches easily w/out fear of bottoming-out (she will be the only rider). Someone recommended using shocks from a 500 Vulcan, which are supposedly 2 inches shorter out of the box. Anyone have any other ideas? What about those lowering kits that push the shocks back 2 inches? Thanks all!

The 500 Vulcan shocks or relocating the shocks is more than likely going to be your best choices since there probably isn't going to be a lot of aftermarket parts for a bike of that vintage. You could also look into changing the front fork springs to shorter units, if available, and get some drop that way.
