I planted a rhubarb plant last year and was told to wait a year before cuttingit to eat. In the meantime it has attracted slugs which I have repelled with some blue pellets (although they don't work very well!) When and how should I cut the rhubarb to eat and will it be safe to eat after having had insecticide near it?
I suppose we don't see half of what goes on to the food we buy in the supermarket!
My father used to grow a lot of vegetables and fruit and from memory, I think rhubarb was cut in autumn...
