my first car was a 1999 ford taurus. a few months ago, i was involved in an accident & my car was totaled. my parents recieved insurance money because it wasn't my fault. i'm seventeen, so i need a car to get me to school & work. we have been discussing other options as to what kind of car to get. my dad was a mechanic, i've been around cars my whole life. i really want to get a nice car, but not in the sense of going out & buying one. my dad is a penny pincher & won't spend money on a car. period. he is considering putting in maybe 2 grand to go along with the insurance money. thats fine. we were thinking about getting an old car, but a model that we could turn into something really fly. something i could paint & put a nice system in.
my question is, what are some suggestions? if i were to get a fixer upper, something i could get cheap & put most of the money into fixing, what make/model would be my best option?
