Advice for a phone - Cingular...

Any advice you guys can give would be greatly appreciated here!!!

I am about to upgrade my Cingular plan, and have gotten lots of different phone feedback. While price is definitely a concern of mine, I am willing to spend a little more for quality. I don't abuse my phones, but use them alot, and after about 15 months often my phone starts to have major issues, which is why I'm nervous to spend a lot on a phone that's just going to break on me as soon as the warranty expires and would need to be replaced.

Anyway, this is what's important to me:
Excellent reception
A decent speakerphone
Bluetooth compatible (not just with headset, but with computer too)
Good battery life
Multiple alarms
Preferably a flip or slider (I'm not that familiar with sliders)
A decent camera (my current Moto v551 takes worthless pictures)
I wouldn't mind if it played mp3s, but that's not a dealbreaker.

I don't think these are unreasonable things, but every phone I look into seems to have at least one downfall. I have looked at the Samsung c417 (doesn't connect to my computer via Bluetooth), Samsung d807, Moto Razr 3Vxx. Although its a candybar, I also like the look of the Moto L6.

Question though to anyone with a slider - If the phone is in your pocket, how possible is it to accidentally make a call? I know on Candybar phones, there is a lock feature to prevent this - what about on Slider phones?

Again, thanks in advance to anyone who helps me out here!

Go ahead and avoid that Samsung D807. I had one for about a month, took it back to Cingular, and got the SE W810i. I haven't regretted it once. The W810i is a far superior phone in comparison in just about every aspect. I already had a RAZR, so I didn't want another, and once you get away from Moto's, you realize how buggy they are.

I would suggest the W810i. 2 megapixel camera, bluetooth sync capable, mp3 player, excellent battery life, excellent reception, overall easy to use phone.

I have heard great things about the w810i, but I think its a little too good for me, and a little too out of my price range. I'm not trying to be cheap here and I'm not just looking for a 'free phone', but I don't have that much $$ to throw around on this. I'd much prefer a very cheap phone, but again, I do know that you get what you pay for.

What about other phones, like the Sync or SE W300i? Either of those any good? Or the Samsung D407? I have tried reading reviews on all different sites, and for each great review I find, I find an equally negative one.

+1 for the W300i. The Sync costs just as much as a W810i. So if you can afford the Sync, I'd consider the W810i...it has alot of nifty features (sometimes you don't even consider using, but comes in real handy). The only thing I see that the Sync has over the W810i is its use of Cingular/ATT's 3G network. If you're unsure about all the choices you listed, you can use the 30-day warranty, and just test test out the phones extensively before it's over. After that, you can make an informed decision.
