...CSS...? I've also told my boss that she doesn't know CSS or HTML (she can't write or read anything outside of Dreamweaver) and because he doesn't know what HTML or CSS even is, he has no idea what I'm talking about and insists she's doing a good job.
My boss is not the brightest guy in the world -- he keeps trying to start turnkey websites (...I know) in hopes of becoming the next Google or something.
In his attempt to be as cheap as physically possible, he's hired all interns (me and another guy who barely speaks English) and a web designer who doesn't know HTML or CSS
He wants his site to "web 2.0" and as much obnoxious Javascript and AJAX as physically possible. I'm an intern who he's using as a full hire (I'm quitting in three weeks after working for almost a year). I'm strictly a backend PHP person. I don't do CSS because I hate dealing with it.
The "web designer" he recently hired doesn't know a lick of CSS or HTML. I mean absolutely nothing. I'm learning that all she does is copy the CSS and HTML from other people's websites, put it in Dreamweaver and call it hers.
Because she doesn't know what she's doing, I'm now doing both her job -- the creating the CSS and HTML for the page she's designed in Photoshop -- and my job, developing the PHP backend. On top of that, she and the boss keep asking for more and more obnoxious little Javascript functions, in his attempt to "impress" everyone who visit the page.
I already plan on leaving in three weeks, but I'm tired of having to do her job, my job and deal with a clueless boss who knows nothing about creating a website. Particularly while she takes credit for what I've done. She's contributed nothing and both she and the boss are 100% copying the design of another website.
I'm ready to pull my hair out. This isn't even in my major, I'm a Mechanical Engineering and Computer Science major (focus on software not webapps) so I feel like I've wasted my time as well. When I took the job, I honestly did so without much thought, which I now see was a mistake. I was just happy to get an internship. How do I fix this?
Suggestions?
