Emssions controls have had a bad affect on performance for over twenty years and they get progressively worst. They are one reason Harley has introduced the twin cams and raised gearing, to reduce engine noise and increased engine size, to compensate for power losses due to lean air/fuel ratios and exhaust noise restrictions. By removing the various restrictions Harley has to put on new bikes we can get much improved performance.
