I'm doing an AA in Advertising this Fall at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. Well, I know it's an art college so the program must've been leaning more towards the artistic side. But I just want to double check. Any opinion? I want to delve more into the creative side, NOT the business aspects (although I know one of the foundation classes has something to do with marketing).
In general, does an Advertising major have anything to do with Broadcast Journalism? Do I still have a shot of working in magazines as a feature writer/editor aside from being an art director? I already hold an AA in Screenwriting for Film, TV & Digital Media, so if I combine this with the degree I get in Advertising, do I have a chance of working in a magazine (or moreover, launching my own magazine)?
