What client you guys use for ftp?
I dont even use ftp, I use sftp (that slow speed little bit but is more secure) and still max my home connections all the time My home connection is 5Mbit.
Just use filezilla with multiple connections and thats it

I tried all with the same results!
I edited my last post i typed it wrong i ment server speed is slow to max 2mbps up or down.
I'll stick with newsgroups FTW not to mention cheaper.

I think the no waiting line refers to a shared server. I got my slot on a shared server in a few minutes.

Under maximum setup time it shows 12 hours for shared and 24 for dedicated.

With that money you could get XL from kimsufi which is not vps and you are on your own. The same with server.lu servers and you don't get the server in a week I have ordered a server and it was delivered to me in 2 days.

No special interest in that happening. We have the slots, if there's only 16 people wanting to test them it's fine by us.

It's not that we have a problem letting people use the service for free for a week; but there is no point in testing services in locations are that known not to be optimal - people would think our service suck, and obviously that's not what we want.

For those that signed up, how long did it take to get a server? I payed for a personal server over 20hrs ago. The site says no waiting line. So I am just curious what the turn around time typically is.

Hi, assuming your name starts with E., we are waiting for OVH to release your server to us. So far the absolute minimum waiting time has been 3 hours, and maximum 22 (just checked the stats).

The problem with OVH is that often they manually check orders, and (apparently) when an order is flagged for checking they release its servers at the end of the day (French time). We haven't seen this written anywhere but it is what we've seen so far.

Talking on the phone to OVH is like talking to a wall.

As soon as we get the server we'll prepare it and send you the login details. We understand that people want to get their servers as soon as possible.

Well, only if you pay weekly instead of getting a monthly plan

Anyway, if you prefer to get your own hardware, install everything, deal with problems with both the supplier and other users if you have any by all means do so.

We have servers in many places around the world and if any client has a speed problem with a specific provider we let him try another, inmediately, no cost. If a newbie has a problem using the seedbox, or a tracker, etc, we help him out, and so on.

Of course if you go directly to a provider that you know to work well and take care of everything it's going to cost less.

You can eat at home if you want, too... no need to go to a restaurant where you just go eat and tell them that it's cheaper if you cook yourself
