Advantages of having an undergrad education major rather than simply a masters degree.?

What is the point of getting an undergraduate degree in education rather then majoring in something else, and then going into a masters program?
I was trying to ask if both people in the end had a masters degree in education, but one had a undergraduate degree in education, what would be the benefit?
