My dad has owned Oscars before. He would buy a few every year and throw them in his pond. And CRAP did thoes fish get BIG! LOL In my opinion(since i own a 30 gal. salt and 150 gal. african chiclid tank) I would look in to buying a different type of fish, unless you own a pond, but if you want a large fish i suggest buying some goldfish they can get to a decent size, even though they are usually sold tiny. If you want an albino fish, i currently own an african chiclid albino he is about 4 inches long (but i feel bad for him because all the other fish ignore him)

whats your input on this,
fish stores selling adult size fish housed in small tanks and they tell you need to put them in very large tanks, and then they tell you here we have a 75-100 gal with everything for x$$$$
alot of these fish dont get sold quickly, so they are in these cramped conditions for awhile some even months.
ive seen two 12" albino oscars sharing the same tank i would say the tank is 15-20 gal tall, they have been in this tank 2-3 weeks now.
i understand in order to meet the standards of large fish to sell they would have alot of large tanks, and most pet stores dont have that room
yea im assuming those oscars are trade ins, but wow tank way toooo small
i already have 2 oscars, now way do i have room for 2 more, i wish i had another large tank cause i would buy them
wow these are very very very good inputs, it will be tough to choose best answer
