Do you know of any adult film actresses who have moved in to mainstream TV or Film?

She's French so i'm not sure if she or others consider some of her films "arty" but they were definately adult.
She also appeared in District 13. I watched it last week which got me thinking about this topic :D
 
Ummm, wasn't that Sasha Grey girl in a documentary/film not long ago? 'The Girlfriend Experience' or something.

I'm a bit sketchy on the details but I believed her to be a hardcore porn star moving into acting...:o
 
According to the OP I am following the context of the discussion properly - the fact you've never heard of him means zilch. Why would you?

But "Milk" and "Cry Baby" etc are the same 'mainstream'.

I know a couple of gay porn actors that have gone mainstream - albeit in gay themed titles - as well as many who are simultaneously mainstream models and do solo gay porn.

Or are you just after female cases, rather than the shared principle ? - I'll be no help there if so.

Jenna Jameson was in private parts and more recently in a horribly crap movie called Zombie Strippers, which i might add, also starred horror icon Robert Englund.

she also guest starred in an NBC sitcom as herself for a couple of episodes until it was cancelled!!

Says alot really, should probably stick to what she's good at:p
 
Wasn't that more of an indie film though? It wasn't made as a "porno".
It just had hardcore scenes in it that other indie/arty films have done before.

Kerry Fox and Chloe Sevingy are another two actresses I can think of who have done explicit/hardcore scenes in indie/arty movies.

I guessings it's done a lot more on the continent and has been for many years.
 
Post about male actors if you have any more to list. I usually use the term "actor" in thread titles but I must of been thinking too much about actresses at the time I posted :D
 
Well you tell me, do any native english speaking pornstars- because that's what you're talking about- look normal? Seems to me they all look like sticks with inflatable tits and lips.
 
I'm surprised no-one's mentioned Ginger Lynn Allen, although the only 'legit' thing I recall ever seeing her in was Bound & Gagged: A Love Story from 1993. It's forgotten now, but I have an old VHS of it here and at the time thought it was a good spiky indie film, inspite of me being gay and it being full of ladybits.

I'm not sure if I'm right in thinking that the 'grandmammy' of the crossover gals would be Marilyn Chambers, the 70s porn equivalent of a household name, carving a new very short-lived legitimate niche for herself in David Cronenberg's Rabid in 1977.

Even before that, Linda Lovelace of 'Deep Throat' infamy made a 1975 number entitled Linda Lovelace for President, although it was a softcore sex comedy and so still a 'sex film' in a sense.
 
It's just your definition is technically wrong, Straight porn is for straight people and gay porn is for gay people. One is NOT a niche of the other.

And if you think Ron Jeremy is 'for men' you're clearly deluded.
