Hi there, I am 25 and I've decided to take up ballet again. I had several years of instruction as a child and stopped when I was 11. I am determined to give it my all, hopefully to get onto pointe, but first I have to lose weight - my weight has been holding me back and preventing me from taking up ballet again for 15 years, and I'm determined to beat it and throw my all into taking up ballet again, even if it will be at a later age!
My question is, while I'm working my butt off to shift the pounds so I can sign up for more classes, are there any exercises I can do to give me a head start? I was a very good dancer as a child so I'm hoping I'll learn quickly, but I want to do anything I can to better my chances and if there's any sort of stretches or moves I can do every day to help me develop skills before I start taking classes then I'd love to know about them. I'd love any hints, tips and advice you can give me in general. Thanks in advance.
