Adobe Photoshop Question?

I want to paint a solid black line but whenever I use the paintbrush tool to paint with the color black the line I draw looks like it is not black instead it looks kind of grayish and see through. And where my brush lines cross is darker than the actual line. Please help I just want the paintbrush tool to paint a solid black line
 
Make sure the foreground color is black and by the brush the thing that says Mode: is on Normal and the fill and opacity is at 100% , that should fix your problem , any further questions please contact me.
