Adobe Photoshop Question?

use Move tool (v) to put one picture on top of another ( if they are different sizes, try Edit> Free transform Ctrl+T to make some adjustments) then on Layers window on your right, select the picture and try to experiment with Opacity slider! Add layer mask if you want just some part to be opaque ( dont forget to switch to default background and forground color for the layer mask)

I have a photo that i want to layer over another. How do i make the first photo opaque?? I have a mac if that makes a difference.
